How it works

From a few old photos to a printed, wipe-clean book on the bedside table, with the whole family helping along the way.

  1. Start the book

    Order online and tell us who the book is for and the name they like to be called. Then work through short chapters (growing up, work, family, places, the things they love) with simple prompts.

  2. Invite the family

    Share one link on WhatsApp, text or email. Brothers, sisters, grandchildren and old friends add photos and short memories, with no account needed. You choose what goes in.

  3. Check your proof

    Every page lays itself out in a calm, clear, dementia-friendly design. When you are happy, we send a PDF proof. Approve it or ask for changes; nothing is printed until you say so.

  4. Your book arrives

    We print it on thick, wipe-clean laminated card and post it with a one-page "About me" sheet for carers, usually within 5 to 7 working days.

Each chapter has a few plain-language prompts. Skip anything that doesn't fit; add more photos where there is more to say.

Then a few fixed pages: the cover, "My name is…", the people in their life now, things they love and don't like, and a short note on how to use the book.

What relatives see

Relatives only ever see your invite link. They type their name and how they know the person, then add photos with a short caption and a rough year, or answer a prompt. There's nothing to download and no account to create. They see a thank-you and you see what they added, so you stay in charge of the book.

What you check before printing

Your proof is a PDF of the finished pages. We suggest checking:

  • Names and the spelling of places
  • Dates and ages
  • Photos the right way up, with faces nicely framed
  • That every caption sounds like them

Approve it, or ask for changes and check a new proof. We only print after you approve, and you can cancel for a full refund until then.

Printing and delivery

Books are printed on 300gsm card, matte laminated on both sides and stapled along the fold. They're posted to any UK address with the "About me" sheet, usually within 5 to 7 working days of approval. Extra copies (£19 each) travel with your book.

Afterwards

We delete the photos and answers 30 days after your book is posted. If you'd like more copies, order them before then.
